Some news from the Down board (includes info on Pep side project)

This was posted at the Down board:

My friend had a drum lesson with stanton moore before a galactic show and he said pepper was working on a side project with him and he had to stop because they are working on down 3!

For those of you that may not know - Stanton Moore is a good friend of Pepper's & he also stepped in & played the drums on COC's last release "In the Arms of God." He joined them on tour for a few dates as well.

I don't know what I'm more excited about - that Down 3 is in the works? Or that there could be another Pepper side project coming out.

Either way:

Awesome news...I wonder what Pep and Stanton are up to and if Pepper gives guitar lessons...emoticon

...I can't wait for Down III (I think the guys must be tired of hearing that though). Maybe Down will be touring this time next year. emoticon

...Also, saw this link on Stanton's website:

  Renew Orleans

"Renew Orleans is a simple concept for a complicated time - solidarity. A commitment to hope and a public affirmation of the past, present and future of New Orleans. Buy a t-shirt and contribute directly to the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund. Wear the shirt and personally broadcast a statement - New Orleans will be rebuilt and faith will be restored. There can't be any future for New Orleans without music, and we hope this to be one small step towards bringing it back.
The New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund is a certified non-for profit company created to directly assist the hundreds of thousands of New Orleans musicians that are now without home, family and even their instruments. It was created as an instant response to Hurricane Katrina and is now the only non-profit that actually pays monies directly to musicians that need it the most."

Buy a T-shirt everyone emoticon

More Pep comments about next Down project/Phil Anselmo

Just found this today...yes it's on Blabbermouth, but figured I'd throw it up anyways. I didnt see this on the board anywhere...it was posted on 2/26/06:

In other news, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocals Pepper Keenan, who also plays guitar in DOWN, told France's HeavyMusic.free.fr webzine on January 29, 2006 that the members of DOWN — Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — have been in talks about regrouping to write and record the band's much-anticipated third full-length album. "We haven't done anything yet, but we're talking a lot about coming together again, all of us, and starting to work on stuff," Keenan is quoted as saying. "DOWN needs to come back and Phil is totally eager to sing again." Asked how Anselmo is doing after he underwent back surgery in late November, Pepper said, "He's doing very well. He has stopped taking painkillers and other !@#$ drugs. His eyes are clear and full of life again. You'd say he was 19 again. He's really ready to set it off. It's gonna be a great thing. We're gonna take it step by step and we'll see. We are planning to go to Europe and do a tour before even making the new album. We are planning to [go there], return to form and have some fun far away from the States. And after that, we will immediately start writing [the new album]."
