I know you don't wanna hear it, but..
..I have to do it. 
Ok. It's about Jason (Newsted  )
I don't know why I'm writing this here but, I'd alway's want to ask you one Q. Just one. or two. *cough*
I know, it's in a way stupid what I'm doing here, but hey.. I really love you girls, then I really love to know your opinoins and reasons.
So.. uhm..
It's just a simple Q.
Why in the hell are you girls (I know, Anna, Jill, Jenn, Tamz, Simone.. etc.) don't like Jason? Give me one reason. I don't wanna change your opinion about him, I never would. I just wanted to know that. I really love to read about the issues between Jason and the "Fans" (allthought he was the fave member in 'tallica, behind James), because I want to understand the reasons. So, please girls?

Hey sugar...It's not that I "don't" like Jason..It's hard to explain I guess. I just think a lot of things could have been handled a lot differently and it came off to me that Jase was a tad bit selfish..this was at the time. Now I look back on it in a more "adult" way, and find that it wasn't just Jason, it was James too...and a lot of the alcohol and the control freak in Het coming out. I just wish him the best, and while I love Rob, think he's great, I have to agree with Anna and say that I miss Jason on stage. I guess it's because we have an advantage of seeing 15 years of Newsted and only 3 (one tour) with Trujillo.
Time will tell...

I don't dislike Jason at all. I respect his reasons for leaving, because it seems that he and Het had major issues, and I'm sure what we know only scratch the surface of everything that was going on.
However, I'm a new fan compared to alot of you. I've casually listened to Metallica for years, but I didn't know their names, what they looked like, all the albums, nothing like that, my interest was very casual, until about the time St. Anger came out I fell in love with the black album, and the rest is, as they say, history. So, in a way, I don't know Metallica with Jason. However, I don't wish I had. I've seen both him, and Rob with them live, and I most definatly prefer Rob.
I do however respect Jason, totally. He was a great part of Metallica for a long time.

I never disliked Jason either-- I have to agree with Anna, that while Rob is a good fit for where the guys are now, and will be in the future...the place where I miss Jason is his live performances. Rob is a tremendous bass player, but it's the extras like Jase's backing vox and just how he would come across live. For awhile I had a hard time seeing his side of things w/his conflicts with James because I always supported James in whatever he did. Of course over time, I realize James was at fault for many things involving Jason (and of course we dont know all of it either)and I had to look at the situation with more of an "open mind".
I am thankful for what Jason gave to Metallica and to the fans, He busted his ass 110%. I hope that he has been able to speak off the record with James and things are better between them now since the SKOM days. James is a different person now,and Im willing to bet they've had a conversation or too. I hope to see Jason be presented on stage with them when they are (hopefully first year eligible)inducted into the Rock Hall in 2008. Usually past members are invited to attend, it would be quite touching to see.
